The role

IIJ Europe team is looking for a hands on and enthusiastic Server or Network System Engineer to provide via telephone, email, online tickets and in-person, quality engineering services for day-to-day support work and also system integration work with IIJ Europe staff and/or 3rd party engineers. The role will include IT support work such as ticket logging, technical support of desktops, servers, network, other associated devices, and acting upon monitoring system alerts. It will also include designing and configurating the network, security, and other IT infrastructure. The role will support from small clients to large multi-branch clients.

Principal Responsibilities & Duties

• Provide 1st and 2nd technical support for IIJ Europe customers and IIJ Europe internal staff via telephone, email and online ticketing system
• Provide accurate and timely diagnosis and rectification of customer faults and work proactively to ensure prompt resolution of support cases and the highest possible levels of customer satisfaction
• Provide system integration, office relocation services for IIJ Europe customers and IIJ Europe internal system; provide systems installation and configuration; provide system migration, move and removal
• Provide project management for small system integration and office relocation projects, including IIJ Europe internal projects and ensure that the project deliverables are delivered on time, within budget and with required level of quality
• Plan and design IT systems and infrastructures
• Define requirements from the customers
• Cooperate with our partners and provide excellent customer services

Essential requirements/Knowledge/Skills/Qualifications

• Previous technical support experience in IT infrastructure industry

• Highly proficient in Microsoft Office products (Outlook, Word, Excel, Power Point)

• Able to demonstrate understanding of basic networking (LAN, WAN or Wi-Fi)

• Able to demonstrate understanding of PC basic technical knowledge (Control Panel, Command Prompt)

• Excellent communication skills with clients, end users, vendors, third parties

• Ability to work flexibly, on own initiative and as part of a team

• Ability to prioritise and manage own workload

• Availability for occasional on-call duty outside normal working hours

• Able to demonstrate good knowledge of:
  • Windows 10
  • Windows Server OS: 2016/2019/2022,
  • VMware, Hyper-V
  • Microsoft 365 and other cloud services
  • LAN/Wi-Fi/WAN network support/troubleshooting
  • IP phone system
• IT related Degree
• Ability to manage relationships with tact and diplomacy
• Ability to interpret and process large, complex information
• Excellent writing skills, including the ability to write accurate and easy to read copy for a range of audience
• Japanese speaking and writing
